Dome Dragons continue rampant form

The Dome Dragons continued their rampant form on the third day of the Inline Africa Cup currently underway at The Dome Swakopmund as last year’s finalists hammered the Peregrine Falcons 11:1 in their only game of the day. Their fourth win in equally as many games sees the Dragons being the only undefeated team of the tournament so far.

Canadian international Dave Hammond was the teams outstanding offense player once again, scoring five goals and assisting three more.

Meanwhile Namibia’s senior men bounced back after their narrow defeat to the Dragons on Wednesday evening, recording a hard-fought 6:4 victory over the Namibian junior men in the morning. The juniors held them to a 4:4 draw till the very last minutes of game before the experience of the older generation eventually helped them keep an upper hand. The final game of the night went 5:1 in favour of the senior men against the Rhinos, while the junior men celebrated a 7:4 win over the Dare Devils.

Day 4 will be crucial with the four play-off places being decided. The Dome Dragons have their place secured, with the senior and junior men all but qualified, unless a drastic dip in form renders their exploits so far useless. Behind them, the Dare Devils, Moose Knuckles and Peregrine Falcons still have a realistic chance of making the top four while the Rhinos are on the verge of dropping out of the tournament without a win.

The tournament will continue all week with the play-offs scheduled for Saturday.
